Vijaydurg fort is a sea fort built by shivaji and is one of the many historicals places in Sindudurg District. It is a great fort of kokan. The walls of Vijaydurg has architecture of Maratha hallmarks and is the remembrance of victory of King of Maratha, Shivaji at Vijaydurg. This fort is having sea on three sides and rocks on other side.

The fort is having triple row of huge walls, many towers and empty space between inner building. Huge stones are used for building purpose. The fort is famous for its historic importance and also for scenic beauty which it provide due to beach. Sunset view is beautifull from the Fort.

Vijaydurg fort has many tourist attractions including the temples inside the fort which are dedicated to Maruti, Bhavani, Mahapurush and also of Shivaj. Dockyard has many grapnel and triangular stones anchor. The Fort has beautiful and charming view of beach close by.
